Whichever member of the whānau had the idea to mic’ up the little one for his rugby games deserves all the applause because it’s crack-up and cute content.
Luka plays for Auckland’s Ponsonby Ponies rugby club and has gone viral for his pre-game, in-game, and post-game comments with the microphone.
Originally posted to TikTok but now on his own Instagram page, Luka’s antics have gained hundreds of thousands of views online with two TikToks cracking 10k likes.
Commenters on the posts are already full of supporters for the little one, with some reckoning Luka is on his way to becoming a household name.
“Future star right there,” one person wrote. “The man."
“This little guy is the man,” said another. “Up the Ponies."
“He’s awesome,” a third added. “What a cool little guy.”
The All Blacks official account even commented on one of Luka’s videos, saying they might have to incorporate a signature move of his into their own strategy.
“Must try aeroplanes, got it,” the team wrote.
In the original post on Luka’s new Instagram, it’s revealed to us that the rising rugby star actually wants to make content as his career.
“Luka wants to be a content creator/’YouTuber’ one day (his words) so with the help of mama - let’s make this happen,” the caption reads.
Who knows if Luka will go for union or rugby league, but if he goes for the latter I reckon he could be a good candidate to replace Shaun Johnson.
The NZ Warriors star revealed that next year his plans are to either retire or run it back with the Wahs.
“If I'm going to do this and I'm going to put my body through another pre-season, then it has to be to win, and I believe that the Warriors are in a position to win,” he said. “I couldn't see myself going elsewhere to compete against that."
