'Goosebumps': Rihanna's emotional Oscars tribute to late Chadwick Boseman has us in our feels

“I felt it to my core...beautifully done."

Rihanna has already had a busy year having just recently performed at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show to now giving an uplifting performance at the Academy Awards.

In tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman Rihanna hit the Oscars stage to perform her beautiful hit ‘Lift Me Up’ from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

Many members of the audience and those watching from home became emotional watching the power of her vocals.

“Didn’t expect to cry watching the Oscars but here we are,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another wrote: “Goosebumps all over again,” alongside a teary eyes emoji.

“I felt it to my core...beautifully done,” wrote a third and I couldn’t agree more!

'Lift Me Up' is Rihanna's first single in six years, ending what felt like a long six-year wait for fans.

Of course, RiRi came back with a bang with the song earning the singer her first Oscar nomination.

Nigerian singer Tems, as well as producer Ludwig Göransson and the film’s director Ryan Cooglre all helped Rihanna put the track together.

In a press release, the group said the song “was written as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman”. Boseman passed away in 2020

During her Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna sang some of her biggest tunes, but that wasn’t the highlight of the show because what we didn’t know was that it was also doubling as a pregnancy reveal for RiRi’s second child.

Rihanna performed while rocking an open red jacket and matching bodysuit. Throughout the performance, she repeatedly rubbed her stomach.

So it seems as though this year is a huge one for Rihanna, and it’s only just getting started!
