Marvel released a brand new trailer for the next movie in the Black Panther series, titled ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, and gave us a quick look at the next Wakandan superhero.
Check out the trailer below.
Right at the end of the trailer we get a glimpse of the new Black Panther suit and fans have been guessing who the character behind the suit might be, with one name coming up the most.
DO NOT READ AHEAD IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED (but everyone might be wrong anyway).
“The figure on that Black Panther suit definitely looks like Shuri’s,” commented one person on Reddit.
“They’re really telling folks to mentally prepare for Shuri Black Panther lol,” said another.
A new poster was released to go along with the trailer, and it’s making people double down on the Shuri = new Black Panther theory. The Hollywood Reporter even posted a poll asking people who they think the new Black Panther is, and almost 75% of the 16,000+ people who answered reckon it’s Shuri.
A few people suggested that this might be a bit of a trick from Marvel, with one saying “we’ve often seen Marvel do fake-outs in trailers with fake or edited clips.”
The film will also undoubtedly reference the OG Black Panther, the late, great Chadwick Boseman. Boseman sadly passed away in November of 2020.
Cast members of the 'Wakanda Forever' said that they could feel Chadwick's presence during filming.
Angela Bassett, who plays Queen Ramonda, said that the late actor served as an inspiration.
"Our heart, Chadwick, was with us every step of the way," she said at the D23 Expo in September of this year.
"He showed us the way. We had to meet his level of excellence, and we did."
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will open in theatres on November 10th, so there’s plenty of time to play the ‘who is the Black Panther’ guessing game.
