Beyonce’s ‘Break My Soul’ puts her in the record books with Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney

Queen B joins music royalty

Beyonce has done it again, flying into the record books thanks to her latest song ‘Break My Soul’.

The success of the song - currently at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 - means Queen B becomes just the third artist to have 20 top ten hits as a solo artist AND ten as a member of a group - joining legends Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson

Break My Soul’ is Beyonce’s 20th top ten hit, she also had ten as part of 'Destiny’s Child'.

Paul McCartney had 23 solo top ten songs and a whopping 34 with 'The Beatles', while Michael Jackson had 30 along by himself with 11 as a member of 'The Jackson 5' and 'The Jacksons'.

Two members wayyyy up there in terms of music royalty, and Beyonce is now sitting pretty with them.

The song was released out of the blue last month. What took fans even more by surprise was the genre of the song - a dance/house track!

Despite entering a new genre, the track has obviously seen great success, and say what you will, but we love it!

Queen B has deserved the right to release any kind of music she wants. She could drop a country track, and we’d chuck it straight in the queue.

A couple of weeks after releasing ‘Break My Soul’, Beyonce announced her seventh studio album, ‘Renaissance’, would be coming out on the 29th of July.

We cannot wait for the new album! There’s a reason Queen B is part of music royalty - she knows how to make phenomenal music.

Get ready Beyhive.
