This morning, Brook announced after 7 years of working with Mai FM, he’ll be leaving in 2023 to spend more time with his son, Winter.
“I’ve made one of the toughest choices that I've ever had to make,” said Brook.
“I’ve joked about this all year and I've made you guys call me Big Daddy, but it's, it's time for me to be a big daddy and go and look after my son.”
“This has been one of the most enjoyable journeys and that why that's why this was so tough but it's also tough waking up every morning and not seeing my son.” he said.
“And I'm excited for that. And that's going to be the next chapter. I'm not I'm not leaving to go anywhere else or to do anything else. I'm literally just going to go and be a dad.”
Tegan talked a big game saying “I wasn’t going to cry” but we all know Tegan, and there was no chance of that happening.
“I think it's a really, really brave thing for Brook to acknowledge that he feels like he's maybe missing out on some really special moments with his really beautiful one-year-old, Winter,” said Tegan.
Tegan then joked “hey, if anyone wants to work with me…. Send me a DM!”.
Brook’s last day will be the 16th of December so we can’t wait to see out the year with you and we thank you for all the laughs and hard mahi you’ve put in across the past 7 years Brook.
