Kia ora e te whānau,

Fame and Producer Tylie here from the Mai Home Run!

For the past few weeks we've been binging some pretty cool and some pretty cr*ppy shows (all so you don't have to).

Check out our fav watches atm below...

FAME

If you love going on a roller coaster of emotions while watching an episode of a TV show aka a psychological thriller, then The Patient starring Steve Carell would be an ideal watch for you.

There’s no mucking around in this TV show, no slow burning mumbo jumbo, it begins with Steve Carell, who plays a Psychiatrist, waking up in a basement chained to a bed with no recollection of getting there. This is where it gets good; turns out the basement belongs to a patient of his, who turns out to be a serial killer.

Why did he kidnap the old Stevie boy? Well because he wants therapy to stop him from committing murder and then the rollercoaster begins from there.

There’s been 9 episodes so far (new episodes drop on a Tuesday via Disney +) & personally I’d give it a solid 3 1/2 maybe 4 out of 5 stars. There’s no doubt this’ll get renewed for a second season!

The Watcher is a brand new horror TV series based on a true story, written and directed by Ryan Murphy.

The Brannock family relocated to a nice house in the suburbs. Shortly after they move in, strange things start to happen, and soon after that, they start getting threatening letters signed by a mystery person named "The Watcher." The series follows the family desperately trying to find out who "The Watcher’" is that is keeping their family in fear.

I was looking for a new horror series that would keep me on the edge of my seat, but not scare me to the extent of not being able to sleep that night and this show is exactly that.

It’s only 1 season long with 7 episodes, although a season 2 has just been announced by Netflix! Actors in the series such as Jennifer Coolidge are already speaking out with what they want to happen to their characters. There is no release date for season 2 as of yet, but we can estimate that we won't be seeing anything until next year at the earliest.

If you’re a fan of the series The Haunting of Bly Manor, this one’s for you! Very similar eerie feeling that you get within that show.

I would recommend this series to anyone who has a quick temper because I feel like you can relate to the frustration of the characters a lot more than others (fire signs I’m looking at you ;) ) It’s one of my favourite series I’ve ever binged and I can really appreciate how similar to the real story this series is. If I had to give it a rating, I’d say 4 out of 5 stars -and that’s saying something because I’m PICKY! It’s currently on Netflix.
