At approximately 4:40am on the 2nd of September, a severe 7.1 earthquake shook the North Island's East Cape.
The huge shake up prompted tsunami warnings for the East Coast of the North Island. The earthquake also affected transport delays across the North Island, including stopping ferries & the Britomart Train Station in Auckland.
While there have been no reports of serious damage or injuries, we still send our thoughts to those over on the East Cape who are getting continual after shocks!
A Gisbourne mum had set up a camera in their computer room to catch the kids if they got up in the middle of the night to play on the computer. The camera managed to capture some of the intense shaking that occured after 4:30am this morning.
