Team Parker calls out Anthony Joshua for 'disrespectful' lateness

Joseph Parker's team have had enough of Anthony Joshua's shenanigans heading into Sunday's unification bout in Cardiff.

Joshua refused to talk to New Zealand and Samoan media last week, and has been notoriously late to press conferences throughout the build-up to his upcoming heavyweight title unification bout with Parker.

Parker's promoter, David Higgins, had a crack at the British boxer on Sky Sports UK overnight (NZ time) for his persistent tardiness.

"Maybe he thinkd he's getting a psychological advantage by being late, we just think it's silly and disrespectful," said Duco boss David Higgins.

"We will start the press conference on time and we will leave 30 minutes later, and if AJ doesn’t show up, it just shows that he has no respect for the media or the fans, because he's been late 100 times in a row."

Higgins continued by claiming the Briton's negligence was a clear sign that the pressure of the weekend's bout was weighing heavily on him.

"He looks like a man under pressure. This is all about performance under pressure.

"You’ve got an unbeaten WBO world champion who's genuinely relaxed and sleeping at night.

"I don’t think Anthony Joshua will be sleeping much this week."

The final media event takes place in London at midnight tonight (NZ time), before the heavyweight rivals transfer to Cardiff.
