Tyga defends explicit 'Kyoto' album artwork - 'It's art, man' *NSFW*

Tyga has defended his controversial cover art for Kyoto, which features the genitals and breast of a woman/tiger hybrid.

The rapper's album cover was designed by Hajime Sorayama, who painted the naked figure prostrating herself in front of a red circle, reminiscent of the Japanese flag.

Tyga, who used to date Kylie Jenner, was criticised on social media for the image, before being interviewed by a paparazzo for TMZ, who asked how he felt about the backlash.

"I think it's lit," Tyga said.

One of his associates laughingly asked if it was "the hair on the p**sy" that offended people about the image.

"It's art, man. It's art," added Tyga.

He responded to a question about the image being disrespectful to the Japanese flag by pointing out the artist was Japanese himself and that the artwork depicted a rising sun, rather than the actual flag.

Tyga also said he doesn't know what "furry porn" is.

On Twitter, he stated the album represents his "true emotions", which he hasn't had the confidence to express until now.

Kyoto is due for release in mid-February.
