Oh snap... The beef between Jay Z & Kanye West has just been ramped up after The Hov took shots at Yeezy on his new album 4:44.
Jay Z appeared to address his issues with Kanye on the new song “Kill Jay Z” where he raps: “You walkin’ around like you invincible, you dropped outta school, you lost your principles/I know people backstab you, I felt bad too/But this ‘f-ck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural/But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe/But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye/You gave him 20 million without blinkin”/He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f-ck was he thinkin’?/’F-ck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”
And now TMZ is reporting that Kanye West has decided to walk away from Jay-Z's online streaming service, Tidal.
It may be because Jay took shots at Kanye in his song, but it's also because Kanye was supposed to be gifted a very nice bonus after his album, "The Life of Pablo," debuted on Tidal and brought in 1.5 million new subscribers. Apparently that large check and other promised fees coming in at around $3 million never arrived.
Kanye's legal team jumped in, blasting out a series of sternly-worded letters, the last of which was delivered two weeks ago and stated that Kanye's contract with Tidal was null and void.
Talk about messy...
