Fans are legit crying over the trailer for the live-action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' series

“This show is one of the few that defined childhood for a lot of people."

After over a decade away, Aang, Katara and Sokka are back again to save the world in a live-action TV series coming to Netflix.

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ is making a comeback as a live-action TV series and the official trailer just dropped. It comes 16 years after the OG show aired its last episode and 14 years after the live-action movie that received major backlash came out.

It seems the live-action plot will be very similar to the original series, with a press release saying it will follow “Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation."

Unlike its movie predecessor, fans seem to love the live-action show, or at least the trailer.

“Legitimately shed a tear,” wrote one person. “This show is one of the few that defined childhood for a lot of people. To see it in this new format, regardless of any changes, is going to be incredible.”

“Well, if the show itself is even better than this trailer then I think Netflix is going to have its greatest TV show,” said another. “It really looks like a lot of heart has been put into this. I was tearing up watching it as a long-time fan of the original series.”

“When the world needed him most, he returned,” a third added.

“Looks tons better than I expected,” one more wrote. “My only fear is how many episodes is it going to be. It looks like quite a bit is being covered in this trailer.”

Well, my bro, the first season of the show will consist of eight one-hour-long episodes and is set to come out on Netflix on the 22nd of February.

As someone who loved the original series as both an actual child and a twenty-year-old child, I’m pretty keen to check out this new series so, please, don’t suck.
