TikTok is crowning the first New Zealand Creator of the Year and the nominees are REPRESENTING

Sheesh it's gonna be hard to choose!

TikTok is launching an end-of-year awards show to give huge paki paki to all the incredible Kiwi & Aussie creators who have kept us entertained during our daily scrolls.

The awards will be bringing together the most talked-about moments, the biggest viral trends, and the most popular creators from the year 2023

Māori and Pasifika creators have been killing it on the worldwide platform and for the first time ever New Zealand will be crowning our very own TikTok Creator of the Year.

The nominees are:

Simeon Fiapule
Known as @uce_gang6 on the app, the Kiwi-Sāmoan TikToker shares hilarious videos with his mates.

One of our favourites is his crack-up ‘If My Uso was emo’ parody.

His most popular video is ‘When the music video doesn’t match’ to Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’.

The clip has gained over 18.9 million views and 2.1 million likes - it’s no wonder he’s up for the award.

Judah Metu-Teaukura
Going by @judaxx, the South Auckland creator became hugely popular for rangatahi after she started posting daily videos during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Judah uploads funny as comedy sketches featuring her mates and other massive NZ TikTokers.

This video captioned: "Arguing with your siblings be like" is one of the most hilariously relatable things I’ve ever seen.

One of her most popular videos blew up after she and a friend attempted the world’s biggest swing in Queenstown and it didn't really go too smoothly.

The Royal Family Dance Crew
You might already be familiar with this bunch of talented Kiwis. The famous Hip Hop dance group has made waves and headlines around the world for years!

Founder and choreographer Parris Goebel put this crew on the map and they’ve outdone themselves on the world stage.

Ticking off performing during the Superbowl Half Time Show alongside Rihanna has to be one of the greatest achievements for the group.

Especially after the clip of the crew dancing to a remix of Riri’s ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ gave them viral success following the 2015 World Hip Hop Championships.

So, who will you be voting for?

Voting is open now for ‘NZ Creator of The Year’ plus loads of other categories until the 1st of December in the TikTok app.

If you’re keen on watching the awards - I know I will be - It’s all going down on Wednesday, December 6 with the action kicking off at 9 pm, live on @tiktok_nz.

For now though, the power is in your hands - for real!
