Hellers and Bluebird have cooked up two new legendary NZ chip flavoured saussies for the BBQ

The whānau will be fighting over the last one of these.

A BBQ with the whānau can never go wrong with a few sausages sizzling away while digging our hands into a bag of chips.

So, what happens when the two are combined? And no we’re not talking about making some snag meets chip butty.

Hellers and Bluebird have gone all-in, smashing the good ol' Kiwi sausage together with Rashuns and Burger Rings.

One of our own from the Mai office caught a peek at these new saussies during a trip to Sylvia Park in Tāmaki Makaurau over the weekend.

He reckons he had to do a double take, thinking he was hallucinating from hungry puku, but nah, these sizzlers are the real deal.

Brydon Heller, Marketing Manager for Hellers told the NZ Herald that the idea for the new snags sparked from other Kiwi food mash-ups.

This isn't the only Kiwi-inspired food combo we've gotten this year.

Remember the NZ bakery that was serving up Milo ice cream in a croissant cone

Luna Bakehouse called it the Milo Dinosaur. A croissant cone overflowing with Milo ice cream, generously filled with hefty spoonfuls of the chocolatey goodness - Almost as much as we’d sneak into our mugs as kiddos.

Let’s not forget some keen bloke whipped up a 'Vie'—that's Blue V and Mince pies combined

U/AvailingPiano posted it on the Kiwi subreddit, claiming it's a tradie's dream snack.

He said he made it during a Covid fever, and reckons he's a legend in his own right.

“By combining a Blue V and a pie into a single entity I have effectively given tradies an extra hand they can now use while eating lunch. After convincing my girlfriend that I had not actually lost my taste to Covid, she agreed to help me turn this Covid dream into reality.”

Let’s cross everything we’ve got that these snags are the meaty match-up to blow our minds.
