The 21st birthday celebration got even more special and emotional, after the birthday girl - Lissie's boyfriend's dad got up last minute to give an on-the-spot speech.
He apologized for interrupting the speeches but felt compelled to speak from his heart.
"So sorry to interrupt the speeches and I just felt in my heart that I want to say something", the boyfriend's dad shared.
"I never forget this Lis. The day I went for the operation, Lis was there the whole night. She stayed there when I was inside for my open heart surgery. And it's something that I never take away from me. That shows the relationship she has with my son."
"She stayed there with my wife, and the other of his siblings", he continued.
"It is a feeling, I can't take it away. Thank you so much Lis," the dad thanked Lis.
Sharing the emotional video, Lissie wrote:
"In my speech afterwards I mentioned that in any situation at any time , id do it again (NOT THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN😭😂😭)
The Finau’s have been there for me since my parents moved to Tauranga and although i still get shy and soft, they still take me as i am. I didn’t expect this speech at all & ill cry EVERYTIME i hear it. Can i marry your son now please"
