‘Embarrassing’: Drake’s card declines while live streaming and his reaction is so on brand

Cost of living even hitting Drizzy!

Drake himself seems to be feeling the cost of living crisis at the moment after his card declined while live-streaming.

The ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper was on a Kick stream alongside fellow artist Lil Yachty to promote an online casino when, in front of thousands of viewers, the bank told him he was broke.

Side note: His response is a true Drake moment. That high-pitched “Embarrassing” proves all the ‘Drake the type of guy to…’ memes are on the money. If you don’t know, they’re basically saying Drake is a walking cheesy cartoon character.

He was actually attempting to donate money to another streamer when the transaction was declined. I doubt he’s actually a broke boy because his net worth is around US$250 million (over NZ$414m), but still no one likes it when their card declines in front of people.

The online casino he was promoting during the live stream is called ‘Stake’, and he’s been putting bets down on the site for a while now. So much in fact that he’s wagered over $1 Billion on there since he joined in 2021.

Real name Aubrey Drake Graham, he is often known to put crazy amounts of money down on sporting games. He bet $400,000 for Jake Paul to beat Tommy Fury, and another $700,000 down on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Superbowl last year (which they did).

Most recently he bet $250,000 on the Denver Nuggets to beat the Miami Heat in five games in this year’s NBA finals. Drizzy bets so much that there was a thing called the 'Drake Curse' for a while, which basically meant if Aubrey bet on your team, they would lose.

So yeah, if he's casually throwing around money like that I’m gonna be willing to bet (no money at all) that he didn’t actually go broke on that live stream.
