Jason Momoa unleashes huge 'chahoo' at NZ premiere of Fast X with Taika Waititi, Tana Umaga

Not the crowd absolutely losing it at this moment!

Jason Momoa sent the crowd at Auckland's Sylvia Park crazy when he arrived for the NZ premiere of the latest 'Fast and Furious' movie - and they went even wilder when he hit them with a massive 'chahoo'.

It's Jason's first time playing a big bad villain - a scrunchie-wearing maniac called Dante - and he fully steals the show in 'Fast X', the 10th and final instalment of the franchise.

But on Saturday night he had nothing but love for his New Zealand fans, friends and whānau, which included the likes of Taika Waititi, Cliff Curtis, Temuera Morrison and Tana Umaga.

Between having a cuddle with Taika's daughters, going full fanboy over All Black legend Tana Umanga and losing paper, scissors, rock to a young fan in the crowd, Jason found time to have a quick chat with us.

The Hollywood heavyweight had hit the town with Taika, Cliff, Israel Adasanya and Lance Savali the night before and enjoyed "a few Guinesses and a few Meili Vodkas" (his own vodka brand), but was in fine form in between chugging water on the red carpet (also his own brand, Mananalu).

He called Aotearoa his "favourite place on Earth" and spoke about his deep connection with NZ and the Momoa lineage which traces back to NZ.

When I asked him about the blink-and-you'd-miss-it "chahoo" I heard his character bust out during a chase scene in the movie, he said it was a little signal for his Polynesian family.

Much to the delight of the fans lining the carpet, he then threw his head back and let rip with a Momoa-sized couple of chahoos before heading off to enjoy watching the movie for the first time.

Fast X hits Kiwi cinemas everywhere this Thursday, the 18th of May.
