Here's how you and your whānau can audition for the Te Reo Māori version of Encanto

Auditions are now open!

Matewa Media has revealed that the next Disney movie that's getting the Te Reo Māori adaptation is Encanto.

It will be directed and produced by Tweedie Waititi who was also behind four other Disney adaptations - The Lion Kiong, Frozen, Moana and Coco Reo Māori.

The auditions are now open for the Te Reo Māori version of the Academy award winning disney movie Encanto. 

"We’re on the hunt for arero māori to step up and help bring this magical iteration of Encanto Reo Māori to life.
We want to see you in these auditions so be yourself! " Matewa Media wrote on their website.

"Have a whānau member or friend practice doing the scene out loud with you. Practice it in lots of different ways and remember to keep it natural and real. Make sure you also get your friend/whānau member to read the lines with you in your recordings!"

The auditions will close on Sunday 23 July, 11.59pm NZST.

The audition is currently online where you will be sending a head shot of you, an audio file of you performing the dialogue audition piece in Te Reo  Māori and also an audio file of your character's song.

You will also need to a sing the character's waiata provided in the audition materials on their website. 

Dialogue script, lyrics, and a guide video is all provided on Matewa Media's website. 

You can audition for more than one role by submitting a new audition form.
