TikTok trends are like the wind, they come, they go, and sometimes, they blow you away.

Dry-ass-boomer-esque opening lines aside, a recent TikTok trend has put Te Ao Māori at the forefront, and captured the imagination of rangatahi nation-wide.

Featuring audio from Kelis and Andre 3000's classic "Millionaire", the trend gives users the opportunity to show off their meanest pukana and haka stance while moving through several different participants. Not gonna lie tryng to describe a TikTok trend makes this 26 year old feel and sound like a damn boomer. But I digress...

The trend has become somewhat of a viral sensation with heaps of rangatahi up and down Aotearoa getting involved and showing off their skills, offering a tangatawhenua twist on a trend originally started by Lance Savali (see below).

It's one of those beautiful moments in pop culture where our rangatahi are at the forefront of broadcasting our culture to the world, showing off just how beautiful Te Ao Māori truly is!
