Menu from the first KFC in Aotearoa shows how crazy cheap it was back then

Everyone loves a KFC mission, even in today's age of inflation and high prices (it's not KFC's fault btw, we're just saying everything is more expensive now...).

But we can only imagine how much more people would love a visit to the Colonel if the prices today were anything like how they were back when the first KFC in Aotearoa opened up.

KFC first came to the shores of Aotearoa back in 1971, with the first location opening up in Royal Oak (which is still there, and it also happens to be my local), and Kiwis has been lapping it up ever since.

A recently resurfaced image of the original menu shows just how cheap it was back in the 70's, with a 21 piece 'Bumper Box' going for a measly $4.95.

The family box was an absolute steal too with 15 pieces of chicken, gravy and rolls going for $3.95.

That was over 40 years ago now so it'll be a miracle if we ever see prices like that again, but if anyone ever figures out that time travel business let us know because we've got somewhere we'd like to stop by....
