Girl who threw Harry Styles the Tino Rangatiratanga flag shares her struggle to make it happen

"[Security said] if I tried, they would take it off me."

Now that all the heat from the Harry Style has calmed, one memorable moment from his NZ show in Tāmaki Makaurau has resurfaced thanks to his proud Kiwi fans.

In a video posted to TikTok, one fan shared their “out of this world” experience of the man himself grabbing her Tino Rangatiratanga flag despite being told there was no chance she could get it to him.

The clip, posted by @whoiskyliee, shows a pic of her in a prime position to view the concert.

Writing on the screen reads: “Me asking security if I could throw the Tino Rangatiratanga flag to Harry, but them saying if I tried they would take it off me.”

Well, that didn’t work out too well for security, because the clip then shows Harry himself walking right up to the edge of the stage to grab the flag straight from Kylie’s hands.

He even made sure to return it safely to Kylie after he had proudly waved the flag around on stage.

“He asked me to throw it to him ... and during ‘Kiwi’ he grabbed the flag and gave it back to me,” Kylie told Stuff.

She added: “I am Māori, and really wanted to be represented as Harry’s done it around the world ... It’s so cool.”

“Māori culture is so special to me. Being able to see that represented on stage with Harry, it was an out-of-this-world moment.”

Kylie’s video has received many comments from other proud Kiwis who loved her bold move against security.

“I’m so glad you bought it!! it kinda made the show better seeing our flag up there,” wrote one fan.

Another praised Kylie writing: “I hope you realise how legendary you are?!? Not kidding!”

A third wrote: “This bought so much happiness to my eyes.”

I was at the show, and I have to say I agree. It was epic seeing our culture respected by such a huge international artist. On ya Kylie!
