This morning it was announced that the rapper Takeoff was shot and killed while attending a private party. He was 28. To commemorate him (and if you did not know who he was - looking at you Facebook commenters) we decided to look back at some of his funniest moments caught on camera over the years.
'Bad and Boujee’ is the track that sent Migos into the stratosphere. It now has over 800 million streams on Spotify and the music video has over a billion views. Takeoff doesn't have a verse on the track.
DJ Akademiks brought that fact up during an interview with the trio at the BET Awards back in 2017. Takeoff responded by asking Akademiks if it looks like he was left off the track. After that, one of the craziest moments in modern pop culture followed (Joe Budden is to blame for this situation btw).
James Corden doesn’t have the greatest rep these days, but back when he was doing ‘Carpool Karaoke’ he was providing some of the best content on the internet. When Migos hopped in his car the viral moments were bound to come and the video did not disappoint.
Takeoff singing, dabbing, and ad-libbing to ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, him and Offset cracking up in the back as James counts their money, and Takeoff’s ‘Momma!’ are all top-tier moments.
Twitter users also shared their favourite Takeoff moments, including a Snapchat catching him by surprise, him Djing with a straight face, and my personal favourite - him calling “cap” about rapping about Nicki Minaj and then looking into the camera making for a hilarious moment.
