Ruby Tui has been (jokingly) promised a go at being Prime Minister by Jacinda Ardern herself in a crack-up video.
The star Black Ferns outside back posted the short, punny video to her Twitter with the caption “Had to @jacindaardern.”
“Okay Aunty Cindy,” Tui says to start the video. “I was just wondering when you’re finished being Prime Minister can you give me Ardern?”
The two burst into laughter before Aunty Cindy nods and says “yup”, which makes Tui scream ‘Yes!” in excitement.
That’s a pretty choice pun if you ask me.
Twitter users were loving it as well.
About a hundred crying laughing emojis are in the replies under the tweet, with a couple more using some words to express their joy for both Ruby and the video.
“Rubes, you are my favourite sportsperson of all time,” said one fan. “The stuff you do on and off the field is pure magic.”
“Hilarious,” wrote another person. “You’re a good sport Jacinda and an awesome PM. All the best for the weekend Rubes. You and the sisters are gonna smash it.”
The smashing that the fan predicts is the Black Ferns over England in the Women’s Rugby World Cup final, which takes place at Eden Park on Saturday.
Our girls barely made it to the final. Only winning the semi-final against France by only one point in an absolutely O-for-awesome game of rugby.
In the final minute, with the score at 25-24, France missed a penalty kick that would have won them the game.
Many people watching the game said it was one of the best games of rugby they had ever seen.
