Kanye West embraced his inner Kiwi by whipping out the socks and jandals while at a high-end fashion show earlier this week.
Attending the Burberry Fashion show, Mr West - who now goes by Ye - was spotted wearing diamond-encrusted ‘flip flops’ with socks, leather trousers, a leather jacket, and a hoodie.
Check out Ye in the jandals below.
Ye seemingly knew what he was doing.
A few hours ago he posted to his Instagram story he posted some self-aware pics of the deadly combo on his feet.
The first photo is simply of the socks and jandals accompanied by some text saying: ‘DON’T TALK TO ME’.
Next, he posted a screenshot of a text conversation he had with a Bari - probably A$AP Bari - where he seems to have anticipated the media coverage of his kicks.
Replying to a photo of himself outside the show, Ye says:
“I was putting my head down to get in the car. That pose crazy. Knew these slides was gonna go crazy.”
Kanye does have a bit of a history of drawing media attention (understatement of the century) and a lot of the time it’s before he drops a new album.
Although nothing is confirmed, he did appear on Naomi Campbell’s live stream at some venue playing new tunes, so who knows?
The Burberry show took place in London and attracted some big names alongside Kanye.
UK rapper Stormzy was there, sitting front row with Ye and wearing some closed-in shoes. The living legend Erykah Badu also attended and was seen chopping it up with Ye.
Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell were modelling on the runway for the show but had the time to catch up with Ye aswell.
Looks like the Kiwi classic socks x jandals combo made Ye the most popular guy at the show, maybe even the next Yeezy release will incorporate the combo.
