Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman suffered a gruesome leg break in his bout against Uriah Hall over the weekend.
Fighting on the main card of UFC 261 in Florida, the two were just seconds into the fight when Weidman threw a kick which was checked by Hall. Weidman's leg snapped near the ankle, and when he stepped back to put weight on it, his foot folded.
Weidman was stretchered out by medics and rushed to hopsital for surgery.
In an Instagram video posted yesterday, Weidman explained:
"Pretty brutal, but I’m going to get through this. I think it’s going to be eight weeks until I can walk without crutches and stuff and drive and all that that.
"As far as actually training, they said beteween six and 12 months I’ll be good to go."
