Looks like filming for the new Batman movie is well and truly underway, with Londoners getting a good glimpse at some sets yesterday.
Production crew and actors, as well as Gotham Police cars and a van for the fictional news channel Gotham Action News were seen on London streets, ready to shoot for the new 'The Batman' movie starring Robert Pattinson. One worker Wade Gravett was lucky enough to get a view of filming from his office windows:
We'd say that's definitely a better view than most of us have back at work this week.
Pattinson spoke last year about being selected for the iconic masked crusader role, saying: "I'd had Batman in my mind for a while. It's such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I'd been prodding Matt [Reeves, who's down to direct the movie]. He didn't accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him."
People weren't overly pleased with the selection of Pattinson as Batman, with his most notable role previously being Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga. But Pattinson wasn't phased by the negative comments: "To be honest, it was less vitriolic than I was expecting. It's much more fun when you're an underdog. There's no expectation of you."
Other confirmed stars include Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Peter Sarsgaard is cast in a undisclosed role.
Unfortunately we still have a long wait ahead of us for this one though: 'The Batman' isn't due out in cinemas until 25 June 2021. It better be worth the wait!
