Legendary director Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby, Australia, Moulin Rouge) has begun the pre-production stage for his upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, and last week saw a slew of actors put their name forward for the iconic role.
Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Austin Butler are just some of the names that've been put forward, but rapper G-Eazy has surprisingly also thrown his name in the hat for the role too.
G-Eazy is a self proclaimed fan of the king of rock, and has already been in talks with Warner Bros. studios about the role. Even going as far as spending time with Baz Luhrmann himself in June, where Eazy made it known that he was eager to tackle the role.
Being a rapper and not an established actor probably doesn't work in his favour, and he is no doubt up against strong competition, but his passion and drive may impress studio executives.
A production date for the untitled biopic has yet to be announced, although it's expected that the project will focus on the earlier years of Elvis Presley's career.
