The death of Mac Miller shook the entire music world in 2018, with tributes pouring in from friends and fans alike following the Pittsburgh rapper's passing. His last album Swimming, was his most critically well received project to date, and it became his most successful following his death.
That success translated to award consideration and the album was posthumously nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy's. TMZ has now reported that the "Break the Law" rapper's mother and father will be in attendance, and they will be collecting the award on his behalf if he wins.
If Mac wins the award, he will be the first person to do so posthumously. The The 61st annual Grammys, hosted by Alicia Keys, will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10.
