Earlier this year, rapper Mac Miller passed away at the age of 26, sending shockwaves around the world. At the time of his passing, the cause was suspected to be an accidental overdose, but no further information was given.
And now the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed to People Magazine on Monday that Mac Miller died of an overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol. Fentanyl was also linked to the deaths of rapper Lil Peep, as well as Prince.
Officials also stated that the death was accidental, and attributed it to "mixed drug toxicity." The "Break the Law" rapper was discovered in his own home on September 7 and was completely unresponsive to medical staff.
This news comes just days after a tribute concert in Los Angeles was celebrated by fans and friends alike, which featured appearances and performances from John Mayer, Vince Staples, Travis Scott, SZA, and more.
