Systematic injustice isn't exclusive to one country, it's everywhere. And you know damn well that it goes on in our backyard too. Nickson was listening to talk back radio, which is a notoriously monolithic genre of our industry, and he was shocked to hear how far Aotearoa has to go in our battle against these systems of oppression.

So both he and Jordan spoke on the struggles that many minorities face every day in Aotearoa, as well as what we can do to change. And the key is to open your heart to change, to learn and seek out what is right, even though it may seem hard.

We were founded by Ngāti Whātua. As a station, we have a responsibility to represent Māori and Pasifika the best we possibly can, and it's not a responsibility we take lightly. We may not always get it right but the values that we were founded upon call us to speak for our people and sometimes be the voice of the voiceless.

Aotearoa leads the way in so many ways, and has done throughout our history, so let's make the reformation of systematic injustice the 'Everest' of our time.
