Jada Pinkett Smith hopes Will Smith and Chris Rock will 'heal, reconcile' after Oscar slap

She addressed the issue on the latest episode of 'Red Table Talk'.

Jada Pinkett Smith hopes that her husband, Will Smith, and Chris Rock can squash their beef after the infamous slap at the 94th Academy Awards earlier this year.

“About Oscar night,” she said on the latest episode of ‘Red Table Talk’, her Facebook Watch talk show.

“The state of the world today, we need ‘em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.”

Jada then told viewers that her and Will are still working things out together.

“Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

Chris Rock said at a stand up set in April that he has not “talked to anyone” about the incident, and as of now there have been no reports that the two have had a heart to heart.

Will Smith did apologise to Chris via an Instagram post a couple of days after the incident.

“I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.

There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

The ‘Red Table Talk’ episode where Jada wished for reconcilliation was dedicated to raising awareness about alopecia, which Jada revealed she was diagnosed with in 2018.

The notorious slap on Oscar night was the result of Will Smith taking offence to Chris Rock making a joke about Jada’s bald head - which is the result of alopecia.

Jada said that after Oscar night she received heaps of support and stories from those suffering from the disease, which prompted her to have an in-depth discussion on her show about it.

“Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” she said at the top of the show.
