If you have green fingers and a high school qualification, Helius Therapeutics wants you to help grow their cannabis.

The Auckland-based company is preparing to enter the medical cannabis market at an industrial-scale level.

Their massive warehouse is just months away from growing "rugby fields of weed'', they told Newshub, and Helius has posted a job ad seeking a "cultivation technician" to help out.

The position involves caring for the plants, performing regular "quality assessments", harvesting plant material, and maintaining the hydroponic growing systems.

"The cultivation technician position performs manual labour to assist in the upkeep, stocking, and fulfilment of growing medicinal cannabis, including, but not limited to; watering, feeding, flushing, pruning, washing, cloning, and transplanting under the supervision of the cultivation manager," the job advert says.

"Attention to detail is required. The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a tightly controlled, regulated system and timelines."

Helius says the successful candidate will need to pass an "extensive background security check" and have a high school degree or equivalent.

Traditional horticultural work experience is considered advantageous, however cannabis-specific experience is not required.
