“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” he wrote on Instagram.
"Please respect my privacy at this time".
Most of us thought it was a marketing stunt for his new business on vape, some even thought edibles.
“He prob going to use this to market his new vape line or edibles,” one fan wrote to X (formerly known as Twitter).
“This promo for your vape company, you not slick unc," another wrote.
Turns out, it was in fact a promo, but for a smokeless fire pit!
Snoop Dogg just posted a video revealing that it's an ad.
Looking really serious, he says:
"I have an announcement. I'm giving up smoke. I know what you're thinking. 'Snoop, smoke is kinda your whole thing!' he says in the video.
"But I'm done with it... I'm going smokeless. Solo Stove fixed fire. They take out the smoke," he adds, as the solo fire pit gets revealed.
Smokeless stove/ fire pit was one thing I didn't see coming and so did many others.
"I was expecting an edible line and not a smokeless fire pit" one fan wrote.
Since Snoop Dogg first posted his so 'giving up smoke' post, a number of celebrities also announced that their smoking too including Meek Mill.
"bro made celebrities stop smokin and all," one fan wrote in the comments.
"All those artist that said they were gonna quit smoking in solidarity. I know they are punching the air right now!!," another wrote.
The company is selling a limited-edition bundle that includes a version of its Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 designed by Snoop Dogg, a fire pit stand, a Snoop x Solo sticker pack, and a Snoop Dogg bucket hat.
So yeah Uncle Snoop is giving up some other smoke, and not the smoke that we all were thinking about.
