Kiwi UFC Heavyweight Mark Hunt has broken his silence on his impending mega-bout with WWE superstar Brock Lesnar, and his game-plan will come as a shock to nobody.
"I'll knock his face off," Hunt told markhunt.tv. "I'll knock his mouth off and then his lips fly off."
The 'Super Samoan' was approached to take the fight at UFC 200, the promotion's marquee event of the year, and accepted without any idea of the magnitude of his opponent.
“When I was asked a few weeks ago to stay ready for July, I was very pumped man.
"I had no idea it would be Brock, but like everything it doesn’t matter who I fight they are going to get it good and proper when I step inside the cage.
The 33-year-old, widely recognised as possessing some of the biggest punching power in the division, has traditionally struggled against fighters whose primary strength is wrestling but has no plans to adjust his style for the former NCAA wrestler.
"I deal with a wrestler like I deal with every other fighter, I punch them in the mouth.
"It’s time for ‘punch face’, a game I have been playing for many years."
Lesnar has admitted he had unfinished business inside the octagon after Diverticulitis put a premature end to his MMA campaign, referring to his desire to return as an 'itch'.
Predictably, Hunt says he would be happy to oblige.
"If he has an itch to scratch I will scratch it for him.
"I ain't no part time fighter. He thinks this is a game where he can come back and forth.
"I will send this pretender back so he can play house with the other part timers. This realm is for the real fighters, not these damn pretenders."
His final message was an ominous one.
"Don’t confuse wrestling with real fighting. I’m going to give it to him"
