Māori Music Award finalists IĀ are creators of what they have coined as 'indigenous soul music.' Their compositions blend old with new and feature the voices found with traditional Māori instruments/Taonga puoro.
The puoro voices are blended with modern instruments, ancient poetic writing style and modern soulful melodies.
For their latest release, Ngā Reo, IĀ have teamed up with National Poetry Slam winner Te Kahu Rolleston to deliver a rhythmic yet mellow track that champions traditional Māori instruments (taonga pūoro) and Te Reo Māori.
