Mariah Carey has announced she'll be working on a new book and has been going through a lot of self-reflection after the deaths of her friends Prince and Whitney Houston.
Among this news, she has bravely opened up that she battled with bipolar disorder since being diagnosed in 2001.

Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me,” she says. “It was too heavy a burden to carry, and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music.
She's reported to now bein therapy and taking medication for bipolar II disorder.
