Loads of people around the globe have enjoyed listening and kicking around to Eminem since he emerged on the music scene in the late 90's/early 2000's.
But many people never gave his unique name a thought. They like his music, so they liked his name.
But now it seems that one millennial on Twitter has discovered how Eminem's name came to be and the tweet has since gone mega-viral with loads of people not putting two and two together either.
But then Eminem experts jumped in the Twitter thread calling out people left, right and centre saying that that's not the real reason his name is Eminem and quoted Em's Wikipedia page.
The Wikipedia page states, "At age 14, Eminem began rapping with high-school friend Mike Ruby; they adopted the names "Manix" and "M&M", the latter of which evolved into "Eminem"."
While the second reason Eminem got his name certainly isn't as mindblowing, it is quoted from a Wikipedia page (which as your teachers would have said is not a reputable source) so you can take that information with a grain of salt and blow your friends minds with the first reason Eminem's name came to be.
