Lots of couples end up putting on a few KGs after getting together, while it may not be good for the waist line... A new study says it's good for your relationship.
The study tracked 160 newlywed couples over a period of four years and examined their weight, happiness and satisfaction over that time. The results showed that those who had put on a few extra pounds were happier, while pairs who stayed slim were more likely to split.
The researchers largely believe this to be due to the fact that once someone gets married they tend to put less effort in to attracting a partner and are more comfortable in their relationship.
They do warn however, that couples should still strive for a healthy lifestyle and eat in moderation.
