Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the 2016-17 season.
No doubt our Kiwi lad Steven Adams is over the moon for his teammate right now!
According to the stats, Westbrook averaged an astounding 31.6 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds per game this past season. He also broke Oscar Robertson’s record for most triple doubles in a single season.
Westbrook beat out James Harden of the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard for the award.
