One Kiwi bakery just dropped the ultimate custard lover’s dream with a mega, and I mean MEGA-filled doughnut.
Denheath Desserts in Timaru, famous for their delish custard squares—if you know, you know—have totally upgraded up their sweet game.
After a ton of requests from customers, owners Lisa and Donald Templeton at Denheath have whipped up a MASSIVE doughnut packed with their iconic fluffy custard.
“So many people have asked for this, so here it is,” the bakery wrote showing off the giant 2kg beast.
I’d love to reckon that I could tackle this bad boy solo, but let’s be real - this thing will require some backup.
To put it into perspective, the dessert shop says it’s about the size of 20 regular Denheath doughnuts.
Watering mouths have been reacting to the creation, with one writing: “Stuff dreams are made of! 🤤”
“That would ruin me, but I’m willing to risk it,” a second joked.
While a third said: “I wouldn’t even want to share this… but if I really had to then I would.”
Talking to Timaru Herald, Denheath owner Lisa Templeton said that while the huge creation began as an idea for a giveaway, the “crazy” reaction made them reconsider it as a special menu item.
This week, you can pre-order the cake-sized doughnut for $59 - about half off - and they’ll deliver it anywhere in NZ.
I’m quietly stoked as, being down in the South Island and already dreaming of scoffing that custard down my gob.
