Usher delivers one of the best Tiny Desk Concerts of all time

Headlines 01/07/2022

Usher, after almost 30 years in the game, just dropped one of the best Tiny Desk Concerts of all time.

In the concert, Usher shows off his absolutely unreal natural talent. Displaying showmanship, stage presence, and, of course, his incredible voice over a great band.

It’s a performance that makes people remember why Usher was seen as the king of R&B in the early 2000s.

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series is largely dominated by younger artists who have something to prove and want to get their name out there.

Usher, on the other hand, really shouldn’t have anything to prove at this point - but he definitely showed the young guns up with his unbelievable vocal range despite being 43 years old.

Throughout the set he performs a bunch of his classics, old and new. Here’s the whole set list - ‘You Make Me Wanna…’, ‘Superstar’, ‘U Don’t Have to Call’, ‘Nice & Slow’, ‘Confessions Part II’, and ‘My Way’ - and they all sound identical, if not better, than the studio versions.

Comments on the YouTube video are thinking the same way we are - demanding respect for the legend and calling it one of the greatest Tiny Desks of all time.

“The stage presence and showmanship is amazing. People forget he’s been around for almost 30 years if not more. Top 5 tiny desks,” said one commenter.

Another comments on how Usher just oozes natural talent, no need for any fancy stuff to make him sound as great as he does.

Kick back and listen to one of the greatest RnB artists do what he does best, sing some beautiful tunes.
