Fashion designer and DJ Virgil Abloh has passed away aged 41, after privately battling an aggressive form of cancer—cardiac angiosarcoma.
Being the creative director of Louis Vuitton Men’s and Off-White, Alboh carved out a formidable legacy in both street-ware and high fashion.
The legend's passing was announced on his Instagram page by his team, who wrote: "We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend."
"He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues."
A music lover and DJ, Abloh has always shared a kinship with those in the rap world, originally helping Kanye West curate and create his own footprint in the fashion world and then going on to form closse relationships with rappers like Drake and Pusha T.
