During an interview with "The Breakfast Club," Snoop Dogg revealed that friend and collaborator Eminem does not make his list of the greatest MCs of all time.
That doesn't mean that he doesn't have any love or respect for the Detroit legend, he simply states the believes there are other rappers more deserving of accolades, citing Dr. Dre as the vital co-sign of Eminem's career success.
“White rappers had zero respect in rap,” he said. “[Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position where he could be labeled as one of the top 10 rappers ever. I don’t think so, but the game feels like he’s top 10 lyricists and all that that comes with it. But that’s just because he comes with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.”
When asked why Em didn't make his top 10, Snoop responded with “Cause there’s some ni**as in the ’80s that he can’t f**k with.” He then listed Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, and LL Cool J among the greats.
Just to reiterate, in case you're reading this and you find your feelings being hurt, Snoop still gives props to Slim Shady.
“Cuz did that. He did that to the fullest,” said Snoop. “That’s one of my teammates, that’s one of my brothers, he did that. But when you’re talking about this hip-hop shit that I can’t live without, I can live without that.”
