Soulja Boy's recent rise back to relevancy may be on shaky legs after TMZ reports that the "Kiss Me Thru The Phone" rapper has been sentenced to 240 days in jail for violating his probation. On top of this, he is mandated to serve 265 of community service.
Since his initial arrest earlier last month, Soulja's lawyer claims that the rapper experienced an "awakening." Despite this, it wasn't quite enough to help him avoid time behind bars.
Complex stated that "The judge initially intended to hit him with two years, but acknowledged the business opportunities Soulja has already missed and decided to be more lenient."
The whole saga began back in 2017, when Soulja was charged with an illegal possession of a firearm, culminating in the rapper's no contest plea. After cutting a deal, the rapper was then called for five years of probation, as well as 240 days of community service.
