A group in Auckland have performed an emotional haka for the victims of the terror attack that hit Christchurch.

Fifty people died after a gunman opened fire inside the Deans Ave and Linwood Ave mosques on Friday March 15.

Mourners across the country have shared their grief, including a group in Auckland's Otara who shared a video of their haka on Tuesday night.

"I live in the worlds most passionate country. Look at this bro. Kia Kaha Aotearoa," one of the people to share the video wrote on Facebook.

"This hearty one goes out to all those who have lost there lives. It ain't fair.(sic)"

It's not the first haka to be performed to mark the tragedy, a group of students in Christchurch led another one in Christchurch at a vigil on Monday.

Dozens of students took part in the moving haka as a crowd looked on.

Thousands of secondary school students from across the city took part in the vigil, which was organised by Cashmere High School head boy Okirano Tilaia.

Two Cashmere High School students were killed in the attack, as well as a former student of the school.
