Kylie's sick of having her 'self-made' billionaire label criticised - she's been ripped apart online since being named "the youngest-ever,self-made billionaire" by Forbes earlier this month thanks to the Kylie Cosmetics brand.
People are unconvinced that she's self-made because of her families wealth, but Kylie is "very proud" of her status: "There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth. That is the category that I fall under," she said in an interview this week.
She does know she came from a slightly different position than other self-made billionaires though, noting that she was popular before starting her makeup brand: "[I] am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans."
She still insists she didn't receive any money from her parents to help he achieve her status though: "I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited and I am very proud of that."
Despite theh backlash, Kylie just wants to "focus on giving back. I never thought that this could happen. I believed in Kylie Cosmetics but I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into. It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing."
