It's only 3 months until the world will collectively hold their breath as the final season of HBO's cultural landmark-epic Game of Thrones is thrust onto our screens. Spanning a series length of nearly 8 years and 8 seasons, the show has an unprecedented following and fans are eager to see what the new season has to offer.
Turns out it's going to offer a lot, with all six episodes confirmed to be "movie length" by HBO boss Richard Plepler. "It's a spectacle," he teased.
"The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had when watching them was, 'I'm watching a movie.'"
Despite the fact the episodes aren't 100% done yet, Plepler stated that the rough edits he's seen so far have blown him away. "They knew the bar was high," he added. "They’ve exceeded the bar. I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”
At first glance the upcoming season looks comparatively short, with only 6 episodes in total. But each episode is said to have a run-time of around 90 minutes, which makes for an epic final season!
