NZ root reggae rockers Katchafire have been nominated for two NZ Music Awards – ‘Best Roots Artist’ and ‘Best Maori Artist’ – off the back of their 5th studio album ‘Legacy’, released in June this year.
The 2018 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards take place in Auckland on November 15. Katchafire have proudly repped NZ roots music around the world for the past 20 years, and were also honoured earlier in 2018 with a nomination for Best Group at the Island Music Awards in Hawaii.
A fan favourite track from the ‘Legacy’ album, ‘100’ now has an official video. When speaking about ‘100’ singer Logan Bell said “it’s a song about real subject matter; about missing home, about our lifestyle. It focusses on mums, and wives and grandmothers and it’s a tribute to the ladies in your life that create life and give life…”
