Cardi B has opened up about her ongoing feud with Nicki Minaj in a new interview with W magazine, revealing the moment the beef reached it's breaking point.
“For a while now she’s been taking a lot of shots at me,” Cardi said. “I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going.”
The "I Like It" rapper claims that her tipping point came when Minaj liked a tweet that was criticising Cardi's mothering abilities, she went on to say:
I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter
“I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass f*cking mom. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.”
Early September saw the two rappers engage in a physical altercation at Harper’s Bazaar’s Icon party, where Cardi reportedly threw a shoe at Minaj. The incident served as a public confirmation of rumors of the lasting beef between the New York natives, causing Cardi to share a statement about Minaj’s alleged behavior prior to their confrontation.
“I've let a lot of shit slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f*ck up the way I eat,” Cardi wrote. “You've threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you'll stop f*ckin with them!! I let you talk big shit about me!!”
