Less than 5 days after the sudden and tragic death of Mac Miller, streaming of his music has increased by an incredible 970%, according to Billboard.
The day after his passing, his streaming rose to 32.5 million from 3.04 million the day prior.
“Self Care,” “Donald Trump,” “Best Day Ever,” “Hurt Feelings,” and “Weekend” were the top five tracks people listened to.
The rapper's incredible streaming increase illustrates just how influential and adored he was and still is, as fans seem to be using his music to help cope with that loss.
His streaming numbers are also expected to affect the Billboard charts in the coming weeks.
Throughout his entire career, all of Miller’s full-length studio albums reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. His most recent project, Swimming, moved its way to No. 1 on the Apple Music albums chart over the weekend.
