The world has been in mourning after losing Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, at the age of 76. Her funeral takes place on Saturday (NZ time), and will feature performances from some of the world's finest voices such as Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson and more.
Ariana Grande impressed Franklin's family with her performance of "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which was a tribute to the soulstress following her death.
Aretha Franklin's rep, Gwendolyn Quinn, says that the "Respect" singer met Grande when they were both performing as part of the lineup for "Women of Soul," which was hosted at the White House in 2014 by then-President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.
Quinn says Franklin felt that her encounter with the "God is a woman" singer was pleasant at the time.
